Super-thin Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge proves surprisingly easy to repair
The chances of you walking around with an S25 Edge are slim since sales have been disappointing. However, if you do buy one, know that it is relatively easy to repair yourself. Assuming you're somewhat handy, that is.
Who would have thought? A thin phone that is also easy to repair? Samsung has succeeded with the S25 Edge. Sales numbers may be low, but from PBKreviews the model gets a high 8.5 on repairability.
Using a hair dryer, suction cup, and pick, you can easily remove the back cover. Samsung uses standard Phillips screws, and the battery is not glued in place. Replacing the screen may require opening the device completely, but an experienced technician can do it.

PBK's teardown shows that Samsung made significant efforts to dissipate heat. In addition to a vapour chamber and graphite thermal pad, Samsung applies cooling paste to draw as much heat away from the processor and memory as possible. However, it didn't help much; many reviewers reported that the device throttled quickly.

The same PBK previously screwed open a regular S25 and gave that model a 9, so the Edge is not that far off the mark. The Samsung S25 Edge scores especially well on a battery swap and the availability of its various parts.
