Midrange is English and stands for the average smartphone. They are not the most elaborate models but certainly not the simplest either. In recent years, this category has become incredibly crowded, mainly due to competition from Chinese brands. For consumers, this is good because there is then something to choose from. Moreover, the models have become many times better than years ago.

Competition midrange

Manufacturers have to pull out all the stops to distinguish themselves in this category. A low price is no longer enough. With the rise of Chinese manufacturers, mid-range smartphones nowadays have to be made of premium materials. And with the falling price of components, they are usually equipped with multiple cameras and thick batteries. The large selection does have one drawback; not every midrange smartphone is equally good. It's up to us to differentiate between them.

Watch out for software updates

Whereas not every manufacturer releases Low-end smartphones, the same is not true of midrange. Of these, almost everyone has a model or series in their range. If possible, always try to choose a new midrange model. They often have the latest technology, which is always a plus in this category. Moreover, these kinds of phones are not supported for years and are equipped with the new software. Especially with Android smartphones, find out which version it comes with and how long updates will be released. With expensive high-end flagships, is it true that you usually still get 2 updates, with midrange you can be happy if it is 1.
