The Samsung Galaxy A22 4G can be confused with the 4G version of the Galaxy A22 5G, but nothing could be further from the truth. There are so many differences that they are hardly family. We will look into what this A22 4G is and whether or not it is worth it.

4G version is not necessarily cheaper

The Samsung Galaxy A22 4G is a smartphone with 6.4-inch large 90Hz screen, quadruple camera and 5000 mAh large battery with 15W fast charging. What it is also is a phone that has not been officially released everywhere. As a result, the price tends to be a bit higher than, say, the A22 5G that was rolled out more widely. And then we come back to the Galaxy A22 5G. It has a larger 6.6-inch screen and a slightly more powerful processor with 5G support. It lacks the 2MP macro camera on the back, but it turns out to be practically useless in practise. The selfie camera is also of a slightly lower resolution (8 instead of 13) but that is made up for with a much more light-sensitive lens (f/2.0 instead of f/2.2). So why do we mention the A22 5G again? Because it costs just as much or is even cheaper. So keep that in mind.

Quad camera with big plus

From now on, we promise not to talk about the A22 5G and focus exclusively on this A22 4G. Starting with the back. There we find a 48MP main camera, an 8MP camera with 123° ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth camera and a 2MP macro camera. Samsung promises razor-sharp close-ups with the latter, but practise has shown that it rarely works. The star of the show is the 48MP main camera. It is equipped with optical image stabilisation (OIS). This is rare in this price category. In fact, it is so unusual that we double chequed. Your photos are more often sharp, even in the dark. Colours and contrast are also fine. The 13MP selfie camera sits in a notch but thanks to the U-shape, it looks more modern than an old-fashioned V-notch.

It has a 5000 mAh capacity and features 15W Adaptive Fast Charging to get you back on the road quickly. On the road you can't use 5G but you can use 4G. Still fast but a little less future-proof. It just depends on what you prefer.
