Samsung Galaxy A42 5G product description
The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G seems to be the ideal choice for those who already want a 5G phone but don't want to pay very much for it. This A42 5G has an acceptable price tag, a large screen, multiple cameras and of course the possibility to surf the internet at lightning speed via 5G.
The size of a giant
We save 5G for the last time and watch the screen first. It measures at 6.6 inches above average. In fact, if we compare the A42 with the A41, the difference is enormous. Be apprehensive about that. Samsung applies a bright Super AMOLED panel that is also easy to read outdoors and is also known for its colourful display and high contrast. The screen has an HD+ resolution that is less sharp than Full HD+. This will not make much difference to photos and videos, but it can make text a bit blocky. Samsung has placed the 20MP selfie camera at the top of the screen in a so-called notch. This has the shape of a U and the screen owes its name to this; Infinity-U. A fingerprint scanner is also built into the screen.

Four camera with Live Focus
On the back of the A42 5G we find a square camera module containing 4 different cameras. The main camera is with 48MP nice and sharp and the f/1.8 lens allows you to shoot in the dark even without flash. There is also an 8MP ultra-wide-angle, a 5MP macro camera and a 5MP depth camera. This allows you to shoot extra wide landscape photos, extreme close-ups or portraits with background blur. So there's something for everyone. And the A42 5G has plenty of processing power to show you that background blur before you take the shot. It's called Live Focus, and it helps you take even more beautiful photos. And the great thing: Live Focus even works with the front camera despite its single lens.

Large battery, lots of memory
As said, the Galaxy A42 5G is one of the cheapest 5G phones you can buy at the moment. Ideal for those who already want to get acquainted with 5G or simply want to be ready as soon as it's there. You don't have to buy a new mobile right away. But then it's nice that you can also enjoy 5G for a long time. Fortunately, this is possible thanks to the large 5000 mAh battery. That's big enough for at least 1 day of use and in practise you will often get 2. Fast recharging is possible with a maximum of 15 Watt altho we have to confess that we have seen more. Fully charging will take more than an hour. The storage memory is 128GB and expandable (up to 1TB) but there is a choice in the number of RAM memory: 4, 6 and 8GB. Now not every version will be available everywhere so pay attention if you want to have a specific version.
