Telecom expert Yogesh Brar: OnePlus leaving Europe

Report follows earlier rumour about OnePlus quitting

In early 2026, OnePlus was rumoured to be disbanding, only for the company to deny the rumours in an official response. Now, telecom expert Yogesh Brar claims that OnePlus will pull out of the US, UK and EU.

In late January, a report on Android Headlines caused quite a stir. OnePlus was reportedly quitting or at least withdrawing from several markets. OnePlus denied this in the strongest terms, dismissing the report as fake news. But now Yogesh Brar also thinks OnePlus will scale back its operations, bringing European deliveries to a definitive end.

Identity crisis leads to inevitable decline

Tech analyst Marques Brownlee published a critical analysis of the brand's decline: "the demise of OnePlus will be studied." In it, he dismissed the Android Headlines report as speculation but acknowledged the underlying message. According to Brar, OnePlus will remain active in China, and mid-range models will still be sold in India. Only in the US, UK, and EU will future OnePlus models no longer be found.

Whatever OnePlus decides to do, it hasn't released any flagship killers for some time. Starting prices increased almost every year. While the first OnePlus cost €449, that has now risen to €949 for the OnePlus 15. The proliferation of S, T, Nord, and COOE models resulted in an opaque portfolio, diluting brand value.

Exclusive data: OnePlus sales stagnate completely

The market is always right, which is why we dived into the sales figures here on our platform. The chart below shows aggregated sales figures for OnePlus devices on our platform from 2018 to March 2026. Applying a moving average over the past 12 months shows an almost flat line at the end. There is no more growth, and sales have decreased rather than increased.

Besides declining sales, we also saw several models skipped for the European market. Most striking was the compact 13T. Models were also scrapped from the release schedule. For instance, the OnePlus Open 2 was never released, meaning not a single OnePlus foldable saw the light of day in all of 2025.

Oppo as emergency exit for remaining fans

Time will tell if this marks the beginning of the end for OnePlus. Those who remain fans of the models can safely turn to Oppo, including the recently announced Find X9 series. OnePlus is part of the Chinese company, and the models closely resemble each other. The software is different, however, as OxygenOS has been swapped for ColorOS.
